TEACH KIDS YOGA (EPONA YOGA) INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
Frequently Asked Questions

Questions?

Why does the first part of the course focus on ourselves and not just focused on kids?

Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning to join, some would say to unite mind body and spirit.

Epona Yoga's creator Debra Mc Cormick believes that when we are working with anyone especially children we need to be aware of who we are and our own beliefs – limiting or non limiting.  In understanding ourselves we open up to understanding and having compassion for others.

Working with children requires us to relinquish all control – in the sense that almost rarely will a class go 100% according to plan. Children will find a way at being able to push our buttons. Day 1 and 2 help us get in touch with who we are.  How we want to be.

Why do Teach Kids Yoga Instructors need to pay a license fee?

Paying the licensing fee enables us to issue a certificate stating you have completed the training and thus can be insured. It also provides facilitators with access to the above benefits.

We are increasing in media coverage and you will be included in all of this.

What type of yoga is the Epona Yoga Program based on?

Hatha Yoga

Raja Yoga is the Yoga of meditation.  This is also known as the Royal path to Yoga as it is the path of union through practices that take your awareness inwards. It is rich and abundant in knowledge and experience.

“The term Raja Yoga is a retronym, introduced in the 15th-century Hatha Yoga Pradipika to distinguish the school based on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali from the more current school of Hatha Yoga expounded by Swami Swatmarama. The term was later used to describe the entirely unrelated meditation practice of the Brahma Kumaris involving the focus of one's mind and surrender to a channelled entity they believe to be the Supreme Soul.” (Quote taken from Wikipedia.com)

Is children's Yoga different to Adult?

Yes it is. Children's yoga is taught in a way that is fun and creative.  While we use the yoga poses adults do we tend to rename them into animals names or other names that children can relate to.

In doing this it allows for the children to experience yoga without being caught up in hard to say names.

In each class we still do Asana's (poses), Breath work (pranayama) and a Meditation - most of all whatever we do we make sure it is FUN!!!!!

Why are there two names - Teach Kids Yoga and Epona Yoga?

Epona Yoga is the brand name that is trade marked for your kids yoga mats and kids yoga dvd's, as well as our soon to be released yoga in schools card pack.  Teach Kids Yoga is the teaching side of our company.

Who can Become an Teach Kids Yoga Instructor?
