Tula and Sunni By The Sea

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

After Sunni's trip to Rafferty's farmyard he decided to make some smoothies that would “be a healthy snack and a good way to use some of the lovely free range eggs which Rafferty had given him.

Sunni got his milk, egg, strawberries and a banana and mixed them all up in a blender. It made a lovely thick cool drink that was nearly as good as ice cream! There was so much that Sunni decided to share his lovely smoothly with Tula because he knew that she loved strawberries.

Sunni packed up his smoothie and a beach umbrella and headed off to Tula's beach.

When he arrived Tula was very happy to see him and they sat under the beach umbrella drinking the smoothie together with the starfish.

Fun at the beach with the Starfish

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Tula was feeling a little bit silly, she had already been for a swim and kicked sand around on the beach... as she splashed through the shallow water. She decided to play a game with the starfish that lived on the beach.

“Starfish, Starfish, come play”called Tula.

Soon all the starfish came to see what Tula wanted to play.

“Starfish what games would you like to play?” asked Tula.

“how about sleeping tiger” said the little blue starfish.

“Duck Duck Goose” said the yellow starfish.

“Chasings” said the orange starfish.

How about we play .... ummm chasings” said Tula. As she started towards the orange starfish.

All the starfish sqeeled and started to run around in circles trying to stay out of Tula's way.

“Ï'm coming to get you”called Tula as she chased them round in circles. They ran and ran laughing as Tula got very close but didn't catch them. Finally the little blue starfish sat down he was puffing hard from having run so much. Tula aced up to him and said “tag you're it” as she touched his shoulder.

He huffed and puffed an said Ök I bet I could win the firemans breath challenge right now I'm puffing so hard!

“Yes me too... “said Tula.

Perhaps we should play Duck Duck Goose next time so we can have a rest”she said.

Sunrise and Sunset with Tula

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Everyday Tula watches the Sunrise over the ocean from her home near the beach.

Tula loves to see the water sparkle like jewels as the sun kisses it goodmorning Tula does her Yoga while she watches. Stretching and breathing nicely to keep herself fit.

Tula usually sits quietly and reflects on everything that has happened during the day in the evening as the sun creeps behind the hills.  Tula calls this meditating, she finds a quiet place in her mind and takes deep breaths, calming herself as she watches the sun and listens to the water lap on the shore.

Tula and the Dolphin

Thursday, August 27, 2009

One day early in the morning Tula was out swimming on her back by the beach. It was a lovely morning, the sun was shining and the water was warm. Tula loves to swim it is one of her favorite things! Tula laid her head back and just moved her flippers slowly back and forth... She was having a lovely relaxing swim when all of a sudden a cheeky dolphin popped up right next to her and blew the water out of his spout, showering Tula in  fine mist.

"That tickles" squealed Tula.

The Dolphin just smiled at Tula and ducked his nose under the water and splashed her.

Tula wasn't going to be outdone! She took her flipper and swoosh pushed a big splash onto the naughty dolphin. He ducked away under the water and Tula followed him.

They both held their breath as they swam under the water letting little bubbles of air out as they went.

Tula sank down and sat on the seabed while the dolphin twisted and turned around her - he was quite a show off!

When Tula couldn't hold her breath any more she swam back to the surface and took a lovely big breath into her lungs.

The dolphin was gone but Tula knew he would be back to play and show off all the things he can do again.

Tula's Fairy Day

Monday, June 08, 2009

Tula was at the seaside and wanted to do something different for the day. "What shall I do Mr Sun?" she asked.

Why don't you pretend to be something else for the whole day and use your imagination to have some extra fun" said Mr Sun.

"Ohhhhh, that sounds fun" giggled Tula. "I think I'll be a fish, no a butterfly, no I will be a fairy all day today!" she exclaimed.

So Tula walked around the beach and found some bits and pieces to help her look like a fairy. First she found some white feathers which she thought she could use for a headband, then some little shells which she put on a string and turned into a necklace. Tula searched around for some wings but couldn't find anything at all.

Mr Sun" said Tula what about wings, how shall I make them? She asked.

" Well how about  you use one of the clouds from up here in the sky" he replied and handed Tula a little fluffy cloud which she hooked to the back of her shell. "You look just wonderful" he said.

Tula twirled around the beach and showed off her beautiful necklace, wings and headband. "I'm a magical fairy!" she shouted.  "Mr Sun can you help  me to make some magic happen?" asked Tula.

"Perhaps I can, How about some rainbows?" asked Mr Sun.

"ohhh, that would be nice, do you want one here or in the park?" asked Mr Sun.

Tula stopped and thought about it and said "how about two in the park and one at the forest and one at the farmyard, so everyone will know it is magic".

"Alright" said Mr Sun we can do that my little fairy." and with that Mr Sun closed his eyes and thought very hard and the rainbows appeared.

Tula was very happy and clapped her hands together and ran off to see if Sunni could see her rainbows.

Tula and Rafferty in the Park

Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Tula was on her way home from the forest where she had been visiting Mali. They had been having lots of fun and spent quite a long time playing together.

As she left the forest she saw Rafferty coming into the park from the farmyard.

"Hi Rafferty"  "Hi Tula"  They said at the same time. Tula laughed and said "Jinx" "Do you know where Sunni is".

"I can see him over by the big old tree" said Rafferty.

"What is he doing?" asked Tula.

Sunni was lying on his front with his arms and elbows straight with his hands beside his chest and his back arched back.

"I think he is doing the Cobra pose" said Rafferty. We did one like it when I was here last but that was the Snake Pose. It's a really good stretch!"

"Hey Sunni" They called as they walked up to the tree.

"Sunni stood up and said "Hello Tula and Rafferty, isn't it a lovely day today"

"Oh yes" said Tula I thought it would be a lovely day for a stroll in the park.  "Would you like to join me?" she asked.

"Yes" they replied. So they all linked arms and strolled through the park and along the pathways. There were lots of lovely flowers and they even saw some lovely butterflies.

Tula trips in the forest

Friday, May 29, 2009

Tula hurried into the forest as she was excited about seeing Mali, but as her eyes hadn't adjusted to the cool darkness of the forest she tripped on the root of a tree. Splat she landed on the ground. "Oh dear said Tula" as she brushed herself down and stood up again. "I wonder where Mali is".

Mali could see Tula but she was hiding in the very tree that Tula had tripped on.  "Tula, Tula Tula, whispered Mali making Tula's name sound like a summer breeze.

Tula looked up and around but couldn't see Mali.

"Tula, Tula Tula, whispered Mali again.

"Mali" "Mali" "where are you Mali?" called Tula....

"Tula, Tula Tula, whispered Mali once more.

"There you are" said Tula as she spied Mali up in the tree. "come down here".

Mali climbed down the tree and giggled - "you couldn't see me" she said... "I can see very well in the forest because I use my eyes in lots of ways" said Mali.

"What do you mean" asked Tula.

I'll show you said Mali and she showed Tula an exercise "Eyes around the Clock"

They did it together and Tula thought it was quite funny to be exercising her eyes.

Tula and Mali watch the sunset...

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Tula and Mali had said goodbye to Rafferty and Sunni for the day... They had played under Mr Sun's watchful eye.

Tula had spent quite a while in the shallow water while her guests paddled on the waters edge. Tula really liked being in the water and on the beach. It was her favorite place. Tula watched as Mali danced around the beach finding shells and starfish.

Mali said I'd like to stay the night at the beach with you Tula in the big palm tree".

Tula said "that is a great idea, we can have such fun!"

As the sun began to set on the horizon mali said "Look Tula I can do the Monkey Grip" Mali was standing on one foot and balancing on the oposite hand, with the other up in the air behind her and she was holding it with her hand.

"Wow, that looks hard Mali!" said Tula. "Do you think I can learn to do that too? she asked.

"Maybe" said Mali. "I'll do it slowly and you can copy me".

Tula attempted the pose and she found it wasn't as easy as Mali had made it look but she decided to practise it everyday until she could do it without a problem.

"Isn't it a beautiful sunset Mali" said Tula

"Oh, yes much nicer than what I see in the forest" replied Mali "perhaps you can visit me and see the sunset in the forest one day..."

Mr Sun said "Goodnight Mali and Tula, see you tommorrow..."

"Goodnight Mr Sun" they replied.

Mali climbed the palm tree and Tula snuggled in the sand beneath it and they went to sleep...

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

It was a bright sunny day and Mr Sun thought that everyone would enjoy a cooling dip in the ocean.

Mr Sun Visited Sunni in the Park and said "Why don't you go and visit Tula at the seaside and take a cool dip - I'll see if Mali and Rafferty can drop by too".

"Great idea Mr Sun - I think Tula would like to play with us and I could enjoy a splash!" said Sunni, and off he went down the path and through the park to the seaside where Tula lived.

Fun at the Beach Making Sand Angels with Tula

Monday, May 04, 2009

Hi Kids, Do you like to do the things I like to do at the beach, I like to float on my back and blow bubbles in the water. I also like making sand angels? Do you know how to do that?

Let me show you, first you find a nice piece of sand to lie on with your hand and feet straight. then you start to open your arms out straight to the sides and up high beside your head, like a butterfly waving your wings and keeping your legs straight open them in and out... Then very carefully stand up and move away from the sand that you have been lying on. You will see a very pretty sand angel left behind from where you were lying down.

I love the beach and swimming it is good fun and a great place to get some exercise!
