Rafferty was having fun as he taught the chicks lots of the fun things to do in the farmyard. his antics were legendary!
Rafferty had learnt some tricks from his friend Mali and he was teaching the chicks how to pop up and surprise the people on the farm.
He also taught them to all stand very still in special yoga poses together so they looked like a little army of warriors. he knew the farmer liked these antics because he took a photo of Rafferty and the chicks as warriors.
Send us your picture of you being a warrior like Rafferty and the chicks - we'd love to see some fierce warriors out there!

Rafferty was in charge of the farmyard. The farmer and his family were away.
It was Rafferty's job to make sure nothing went wrong. he had to make sure all the animals woke up in the morning, that was as easy as crowing! Something Rafferty was very good at.
He had to make sure they all got along. That was when he showed his strength by standing in the pose of a Warrior and looking powerful. None of the animals wanted to upset Rafferty when he was being a Warrior!
Rafferty had learnt how to be a Warrior when he attended at Teach Kids Yoga Class and he loved to do the poses that were shown on the Epona Yoga mats. You can learn to be a Warrior using the Epona Yoga DVD and Book

Rafferty was worried about the chicks at the farm, some of them just couldn't seem to stop and be still so he decided to show them the way.
He had all the chicks stand in a row. Close their eyes and take long slow breaths in and out, in and out....
Then Rafferty asked the chicks to put one leg forward and bend it and have their back leg out straight behind them. Then he told them about how they had to take the time to exercise and he had them swap legs and do the exercise again. Rafferty told the chicks that they need to keep their bodies fit.
Rafferty told the chicks that they had been doing yoga which surprised some of them.

Rafferty was standing tall and crowing as the dawn broke and he had to wake everyone on the farm with his loud crow. Wake Up one and all he crowed over and over again.
Rafferty looked around the farmyard and could see the pigs were awake, the ducks were paddling on the pond and the chickens were scratching on the ground. He could see the sheep in the field and the cows were waiting for the farmer to milk them - he sighed - job done thought Rafferty as he wandered away from his perch to join the chickens scratching for food.
It was then that Rafferty saw a tiny mouse fast asleep in the hay. Wake Up little mouse he crowed over and over again, the mouse yawned and rolled over and snuggled further into the hay.
Rafferty puffed out his chest and stood as tall as he could and crowed one more time WAKE UP!
The little mouse had been up all night and was very tired but couldn't ignore Rafferty's big crow so he rubbed his eyes and scurried off to find something to eat.
Rafferty was very proud now everyone on the farm was up and doing what they were supposed to do all because he took his job of crowing seriously. He knew if he stood tall and imagined that he could pull himself up by a string attached to the top of his head he would always have good posture.
